Most couples don’t begin their relationship intending to become stuck in the same arguments, silences, or misunderstandings. These patterns usually develop gradually. One partner pushes harder to feel heard, the other withdraws to avoid making things worse, and eventually both people can feel lonely inside the same relationship.
I work with couples at many different stages, including dating and premarital couples, long-term partners, married couples, and parents adjusting to the enormous changes that raising a family can bring. Common concerns include communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional distance, intimacy, trust, parenting disagreements, and major life transitions.
My role is not to decide who is right. Instead, I help couples slow down interactions that normally happen very quickly so we can understand what each person is experiencing beneath the argument itself.
Therapy may involve identifying recurring relationship cycles, learning to communicate needs more clearly, listening without immediately preparing a defense, and developing healthier ways to repair connection after conflict. We also make room for the strengths that brought a couple together in the first place.
Couples counseling isn’t only for relationships in crisis. Sometimes people simply recognize that something important between them deserves attention. My goal is to provide a balanced, respectful space where both partners can speak honestly and work toward greater understanding and connection.
