Daniel Kim

Sometimes people come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on. Just as often, they arrive saying something like, “I don’t know what’s wrong. I just know this isn’t working anymore.” Both are perfectly reasonable places to begin.

I work primarily with adults and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, burnout, and the challenges that come with trying to manage too many demands at once. My style is conversational and practical. I want therapy to be a place where you can speak openly, but also a place where we can identify concrete things that might make everyday life work better.

For clients with ADHD, that might mean finding realistic approaches to organization, motivation, procrastination, or emotional regulation rather than repeatedly trying systems that were never designed for the way their minds work. With anxiety or depression, we may examine thought patterns, habits, relationships, expectations, and the ways stress has gradually narrowed your life.

I don’t expect clients to become different people in order to feel better. Often our work is about understanding yourself more accurately, recognizing where you have become stuck, and experimenting with changes that are actually sustainable.

Therapy can be serious work, but the room doesn’t always have to feel serious. Curiosity, honesty, and occasionally humor can all be useful parts of the process.
